About Us

IFAI was founded in 1988 to provide unique learning and performance opportunities all over the world. In 1989 IFAI began organizing musical programs and tours for North American groups to Russia and Europe. Since 1992, IFAI has worked directly with the Ministry of Culture, Russian Federation. Since 2000 IFAI signed a special agreement with China Performance and Arts Agency.

Music Programs in Russia:
1990 IFAI organized "Language and Cultural Studies" program in Russia for North American students.
1990 IFAI enjoyed many "firsts" including performances with:
Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Children's Orchestra,
Saint Petersburg Symphonic Orchestra.
1990-1994 IFAI organized the first Piano Institute for students
from North America in Moscow at the Gnesins Music Institute and St. Petersburg Conservatory.
1992 - 2005 IFAI hosted the first American High School and University Marching Bands to participate in the May 9th Victory Parade and celebrations in Moscow .
1993 - 2000 The Ministry of Culture and IFAI designed the first
"Festival of American Music" along the Volga River .
1999 -2009 IFAI and the Ministry of Culture designed the first
International Barbershop Harmony Festival in Saint Petersburg. This festival is now in its eleventh year. It has become the most popular summer music festival in St. Petersburg.
2005-2009 The Ministry of Culture and IFAI designed
The International Music Festival "Meeting on the Neva River". The festival attracted over 1350 American and Canadian, 1500 Russian singers and musicians.
Music Programs in Europe:
1990 - IFAI organized a customized tour for American students in Europe.
1990-1999 music groups touring with IFAI performed in France, Spain, England, Finland, Czechoslovakia and Poland.
2000 - 2009 music programs to United Europe : from Finland and Baltic Countries in the North to Spain and Italy in the South. 2010 customized tours to Germany, Belgium, England.
Music Programs in China:
2000 IFAI signed agreement of cooperation with CPAA.
This agreement authorizes IFAI to select and invite music groups to participate in Chinese International Music events under the special permit of the Ministry of Culture.
From 2000-2009 IFAI hosted different music ensembles from North America to participate in the International Music and Arts Festival - "Meet in Beijing".
2004-2008 IFAI hosted Choirs from USA to perform at the
China International Chorus Festival (Beijing).
2000-2009 IFAI organized special customized performance tours for choirs, bands, orchestras. In 2008 IFAI and GET with cooperation of CPAA hosted Purdue University All-American Marching Band which participated in the XXIX Olympic Games Music Festival.
Music Programs in North and South America:
2002 - a special music tour for the Bahamas National Youth Chorus to Mexico: Cancun, Chichen-Itza, Merida.
2000 - 2009 IFAI organized customized music tours for groups from USA and Bahamas to perform in Canada: Toronto, Montreal.
IFAI with cooperation of GET organized customized tours to the most attractive destinations in USA: Walt Disney World, New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, Las Angeles area, San Antonio, San Diego, Central Florida, Chicago.
