MEET IN BEIJING ARTS FESTIVAL
(Beijing, China)

Meet in Beijing Arts Festival is a large-scale international festival hosted by China's Ministry of Culture, Beijing Municipality Government and the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. The Festival was inaugurated in 2000 and is held annually.

In 2000, IFAI signed an agreement of cooperation with CPAA. This agreement authorizes IFAI to select and invite music groups to participate in Chinese International Music events under the special permit of the Ministry of Culture. From 2000-2009, IFAI hosted different music ensembles from North America to participate in the famous - "Meet in Beijing Arts Festival".

The mission of the festival is to promote artistic exchanges between China and the world. The essence of the festival, in its purest form, is to bring together artists from around the world in Beijing to perform for the Chinese people and meet their Chinese counterparts as well as other artists from other parts of the world.

Beijing was selected not only as a symbol of Chinese ancient and glorious past, but also as a capital, which looks forward to becoming one of the leading cultural, intellectual, scientific and technological centers of the world in the 21 century.
